2a. First Principles: The Qualities of Nature
The yogic view of the world is based upon three qualities: sattva, rajas, and tamas. Einstein felt that the “principle of the universe will be beautiful and simple”. We ask if the three qualities are that “beautiful and simple” principle.
Sattva is illuminating, free from contamination;
Rajas binds tightly;
Tamas is a bewildering absence of knowledge.
