[wpv-autop]In Sanskrit Level 10, we will almost finish the book – Yogāvatāraṇam: The Translation of Yoga – studying chapters 19 and 20.
Over the course of the 9 weeks, we will learn about both primary and secondary nominal derivation and the pronoun enam. We will also learn the many forms of the aorist, the last past tense. This will allow us to continue to read from classical texts such as the Bhagavad Gītā, the more recent hāṭha yoga texts, as well as to continue to read passages from some of the early Upaniṣads.
Aside from a couple of little things we will have now covered all of the main Sanskrit grammatical constructs.
The OCHS has partnered with Loyola Marymount University’s BCLA Yoga Studies to cross-list continuing education Sanskrit courses taught by Dr. Zoë Slatoff. Students who choose this option will receive continuing education credit from Loyola Marymount University (LMU). Transcripts are available upon request upon successful completion of each course.
Our Sanskrit courses feature three dedicated Zoom sessions.
