In Level 6 we will begin to look at compounds as well as the passive voice, and past passive participles. We will study Chapters 11 and 12 of Yogāvatāraṇam: The Translation of Yoga. Learning how to decipher compounds will dramatically increase your ability to read and understand texts, particularly the Yogasūtra, which is made up of lots of long compounds.

Accreditation

The OCHS has partnered with Loyola Marymount University’s BCLA Yoga Studies to cross-list continuing education Sanskrit courses taught by Dr. Zoë Slatoff. Students who choose this option will receive continuing education credit from Loyola Marymount University (LMU). Transcripts are available upon request upon successful completion of each course.

  • This credit counts toward the LMU Yoga Philosophy Continuing Education Certificate.
  • Some institutions may recognise LMU Continuing Education Credits for transfer purposes.
